I co-run the Software Developer's Peer Group which is sponsored by the NCTC. The mission for this group is to increase the level of knowledge for software developers in the region, as well as provide a networking opportunity for those developers. The group has held steady at approximately 15 regular members. We meet once per month and invite a software developer (locals and visitors) to lead a round-table style discussion on a topic for which they have a passion or unique talent.

Jan 2011 - Present

I run a local "front-line leadership" initiative. The goal of this group is to bring local, emerging leaders into a regular forum where leadership practices can be discussed. This group allows people that have generally excelled in technical roles to make a successful transition into leadership and management. As well as meeting with emerging leaders, I also meet with established leaders on a regular basis to discuss effective leadership at all levels.
